.It was informed that all the EPF exempted establishments having link for filing of online returns will be evaluated on six key parameters each month and based on the point secured by the establishments a ranking list will be prepared and the same practice is being followed since July, 2017.

.Officers’ attention is invited towards the performance evaluation cum ranking list of exempted establishments for the wage month of February 2018, which was published on the official website of EPFO on 06.04.2018 (list may be obtained from the official website of EPFO).

It has been observed that 675 establishments have secured 300 or less points in the ranking system. Out of these 675 establishments 433 establishments have not even filed return for the wage month of February 2018 and thus secured zero point in the ranking list.

.All the field offices are directed to ensure that the up-to-date compliance audit of these establishments is conducted at the earliest and if any establishment is found violating the conditions for grant of exemption, then strict action as per the Act & Scheme should be taken including issuing of Show Cause Notice, prosecution of employer under Section 14 of the Act and initiation of cancellation of exemption.

.It is directed to monitor performance of exempted establishments every month and to get the performance of all such establishments improved, which have secured 300 or less points in the ranking list. Further, strict actions should be taken against the exempted establishments showing lackadaisical approach including cancellation of exemption.
