Shop and Establishments Kerala Minimum Wages with effect December 2016

Kerala Minimum wages revised with effect 21st December 2016 and apart from Schedule I employees, the minimum wages revision also applies to those employed in courier services, DTP centres, Internet cafes, telephone booths, catering services and houseboat services.

Minimum wages in Kerala are classified in to two broad Schedule and details as follows.

Schedule – I

Schedule – I consist of Categories from A to D and each Category consist of Grades like Special grade and Grade A to Grade E.

Schedule – II

This schedule covers employments of Courier establishments, DTP centres, Internet cafes, telephone booths, catering services, and houseboat services and consist of Grades like Special grade and Grade A to Grade E.

The government of Kerala revised the above Minimum wages in the each category after considering objections and suggestions on the draft proposal published as per the notifications No.8397 /E1/2013/LBR dated 15th September 2015 and the advice of Minimum wages advisory board.

The calculation of daily wages for categories in respect of which monthly wages have been fixed in the notification shall be by dividing basic monthly wages by 26 and by including the Dearness Allowances.
