Advertisements regarding applicable Delhi minimum rates of wages w.e.f. 01.11.2018
Office of the Secretary-Cum-Labour Commissioner Govt. Of NCT Of Delhi issued Order regarding Issue of Minimum Wages in Delhi and details as follows.
After filing SLP by Labour Department in minimum wages issue and consequent upon order of Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 31.10.2018, vide which the Hon’ble Court has upheld the minimum rates of wages notified by Labour Department on 03.03.2017 and same shall be applicable for a period of 3- months and the department has been directed to do the fixation of minimum wages exercise afresh.
District officers have earlier been informed on this issue vide email dated 02.11.2018 sent by Dr. Rajender Dhar, Addl. Labour Commissioner.
All District JLCs/DLCs are directed to convene/conduct sensitization-cum-information meetings with their respective employers associations/bodies as well as market associations pertaining to their district and inform them about the applicable rates of minimum wages w.e.f. 01.11.2018 which have been uploaded by Labour Department on its website www.labour.delhigovt.nic.in. Minutes of these meetings should also be recorded briefly along with the attendance of persons who attend such meetings. Officers should make all possible efforts to involve maximum number of employers’ associations/market associations so that maximum employers are sensitized and informed about the applicable rates of minimum wages and the penal provisions as laid down by Delhi Minimum Wages Amendment Act, 2017 which provides fine of Rs.50,000/- and or imprisonment for 3- years or both as the case may be. They may also be informed that from 10th December, 2018 a special drive for enforcement of minimum wages shall be undertaken by Labour Department in all the districts.
District officers ate also directed to send details of meetings conducted along with attendance sheet of persons who attended the meeting to Dr. Rajender Dhar, Addl. Labour Commissioner.
Advertisements regarding applicable minimum rates of wages w.e.f. 01.11.2018 are also being released in various newspapers in English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi languages for information to all concerned.
