Tamilnadu Government released Pay Matrix for the approved 7th Pay Commission for Govt Staff over 10 lakh Tamil Nadu government employees and teachers will be benefitted as the state cabinet on Wednesday approved the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations

Certain categories of posts were sanctioned on part-time basis by the Government on Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium for implementation of schemes / programmes. The revised emuneration of the employees in Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium shall be fixed as follows:

(i) Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium as on 1-1-2016; plus

(ii) Total sum of adhoc increase at Rs.400/- in the case of those drawing upto Rs.600/- p.m. and Rs.800/- in the case of those drawing above Rs.600/- as the case may be paid to them upto 01.01.2016.

(iii) 30% increase on (i) above and then rounding of the resultant figure to the next multiple of Rs.100/-.

(iv) From 1-7-2016 adhoc increase shall be granted at the rate of Rs.50/- for those drawing revised Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium upto Rs.2500/- per month and Rs.100/- for those drawing Consolidated Pay / Fixed Pay / Honorarium above Rs.2500/-.  The pay commission recommendations were approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami. The report on the same was submitted by a high-level committee headed by TS Sridhar tweeted that TN govt implements seventh pay commission. State Govt employees to get a hike of around 24% which will cost 15k crore extra per year.

The state has witnessed a series of agitations by the government employees over the issue in the past few months. The Madras High Court had to intervene and it passed an order staying the protests as they violated service rules. The court even issued a stern warning following which protests were withdrawn.
